Our popular speakers program, Hi Neighbors, will be back starting on Monday, Sept. 16!
Hi Neighbors brings an interesting assortment of local speakers who share their interest and passion for topics like music, history, travel, and wellness.
Each session will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall with a hospitality time. The presentations will begin at 10 a.m. All are welcome – there is no fee and no pre-registration.
Here’s the complete schedule – all dates are on Monday:
Sept. 16: We’ll kick off with a tasty presentation on “The History of Josh Early Candies” by Amy Dobil Barnett. Come learn about this interesting regional favorite confectionary!
Sept. 23: Chief Adam Waterbear DePaul, Director of Education, will share the history and culture of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania, the indigenous people of eastern Pennsylvania.
Sept. 30: Join John Gallagher as he shares the story of “Archibald Johnston and the Archie Project,” the restoration of the Bethlehem township homestead of Bethlehem’s first mayor.
Oct. 7: Kay Wolff of the Friends of Historic Easton Cemetery will be on hand to share the fascinating story of this cemetery, on the National Registry of Historic Places.
Oct. 14: Let’s focus on wellness and feeling your best – staff from St. Luke’s Anderson campus will be on hand for “Fitness in Your Golden Years.”
Oct. 21: Ready for a trip ‘down under’? Leslie Pohl will share her adventures, Traveling to Australia.
Oct. 28: Bring your questions! You’ll want to attend this program by Dan Skeldon, WFMZ meteorologist, to Learn About the Weather.
Nov. 4: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not going away – we’ll hear this very basic “Introduction to AI” by Dr. Daniel Lopresti.
Nov. 11: For Veterans Day we’ll hear from local historian Mark Iampietro: “Bethlehem Veterans and Their Memorials.” After the program, we’ll enjoy a complimentary pizza lunch.
