Music Ministry of the Traditional Service

The Ministry of Music of the Traditional service at First Presbyterian Church includes five choirs. More than 200 singers enrich our offerings of prayer and praise! The children's and youth choirs sing regularly at our 9 a.m. Traditional Worship Service and at special services on Thanksgiving, Palm Sunday, and other times during the year.

The Chancel Choir is the adult choir of the congregation. This 70-voice ensemble sings every Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service, at special services throughout the church year, and in concerts. The choir has made two European tours, the first to Germany and Austria, and, more recently throughout the United Kingdom. It is conducted by Greg Funfgeld, Director of Music. The High School Chorale is for young men and women in grades 9 through 12. These talented young people meet for rehearsal every Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Every other year, the choir is invited to join a mission trip. Call Greg (ext. 218) for more information

The Middler Boys and Girls Choir is for students in grades 6 through 8 and meets on Tuesdays from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. Call Greg (ext. 218) for more information.

The Carol Choir, for children in grades 3 through 5, is directed by Marie Miller (ext. 324). Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The Trinity Choir, for children in grades 1 and 2, is directed by Beverly Bailey (ext. 232) and rehearses on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Thomas Goeman serves the Church as Associate Director of Music and is principal organist for the weddings that take place in our Sanctuary and Chapel.

The Philadelphia Brass, a remarkably talented quintet of players, is in residence at the Church and plays at services, concerts, and special events throughout the year.

Carol Choir: Tuesdays, beginning Aug. 26, from 4:15-5:30 PM in Fellowship Hall.
Middler Boys & Girls Choir: Tuesdays, beginning Aug. 26, from 4:15-5:30 PM in the Choir Room.
High School Chorale: Tuesdays, beginning Aug. 26, from 7-8:30 PM in the Choir Room.
The Chancel Choir: Thursdays, beginning Aug. 28, from 7:30-9 PM in Fellowship Hall and the Sanctuary.
