MARCH 19 Experience "New Life" Art Exhibition The FPC Creative Arts Team is excited to invite you to New Life, an art exhibition based on our Lenten theme “The Seven Deadly Sins.” The multi-artist exhibit will showcase themed works of art, ranging in style and technique from emerging to established artists, each with a unique aesthetic language and fascinating interpretation on the “New Life” theme. In addition, Nashville vocal artist, Amy Courts is returning to FPC Bethlehem and will be performing throughout the evening. Amy Courts is currently touring with Jennifer Knapp and Derek Webb. Please join us on March 19, 2010, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Kirk Center for the exhibition opening and reception. Free admission. All are welcome.
looking for artists for exhibition The FPC Bethlehem Creative Arts Team is hosting another Art Explosion on Friday, March 19. Get ready for “New Life” this Lenten season where everyone is invited to experience worship through visual art. Once again, the Kirk Center will be transformed into an art gallery, and the multi-artist exhibit will showcase “New Life” themed works of art, ranging in style and technique from traditional drawing and painting to experimental mixed media, video, sculpture, graphic design and photography. MARCH 21 Bach Choir of Bethlehem—Spring Concert Held in our Sanctuary at 4 p.m on the 325th birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach. This grand occasion will be celebrated with a concert for choir, organ, percussion and a large brass ensemble— four French horns, four trumpets, three trombones and tuba. Festive music for voices and instruments by Gabrieli, Heinrich Schutz, Bach, Marcel Dupre, Samuel Barber, Paul Hindemith, and John Rutter will make for a very exciting birthday celebration. Greg Funfgeld conducts, Thomas Goeman is the organist and members of The Philadelphia Brass are joined by colleagues and friends. APRIL 16 JOY Candlelight Dinner What could surpass a gourmet meal of tenderloin of beef and chicken marsala catered by Karen Hunter? Only a wonderful musical program performed by our artists-in residence, Greg Funfgeld and Tom Goeman, with invited vocalists. This is JOY's signature event, and only $35. APRIL 23 The YCX Drama Club presents GODSPELL JR Come and see our talented YCX drama group perform this unique, groundbreaking reflection on the life of Jesus, with a message of kindness, tolerance and love. This is an exciting and entertaining theatrical show, and admission is free, so bring a friend! A free-will offering will be taken to support our school building project in Quacca Birra, Ethiopia.
